November 30th 2026 is the 60th Anniversary of Barbados’ Independence and its 5th Anniversary as a Republic. Saltwater Stories: Narratives of Memory, Identity & Belonging brings the celebrations to the United Arab Emirates.

Designed by Barbadian artist Russell Watson, the installation at Alserkal Avenue explores themes of memory, identity and transformation through the translucent lens of the oceans, accompanied by panels, roundtables and Saltwater Dialogues.
